This incident involved law enforcement from the Eunice Police Department (EPD), Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO), Louisiana State Police (LSP) and resulted in the arrest of 35-year-old Dusty Rudolph Johnson of Crowley.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Johnson drove a Chevrolet Trax to a residence in Eunice, where he threatened and attempted to kidnap the homeowner with a firearm and stole a 2019 GMC Sierra.

Johnson then traveled to a gas station, where he fired at a patron and struck the patron’s vehicle. He later returned to the residence in Eunice, struck a vehicle parked in the driveway, and intentionally set the Chevrolet Trax on fire.

During the pursuit, Johnson struck a vehicle and continued to flee. The pursuit ended near the intersection of Louisiana Highway 13 and Louisiana Highway 1111 in Crowley, when Johnson was involved in another crash. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following medical treatment, Johnson was arrested and booked on the following charges:
