Clinton Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in East Feliciana Parish
Clinton – Shortly after 5:00 a.m. on May 9, 2026, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash on LA 960 near Three Knotch Road in East Feliciana Parish. The crash claimed the life of 58-year-old Lori Peace of Clinton.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Peace was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban south on LA 960 and approached a right-hand curve. For reasons still under investigation, Peace failed to negotiate the curve, exited the left side of the road, and struck a tree.
Peace was properly restrained, suffered fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased on the scene. Impairment is unknown at this time; however, a routine toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis.
Louisiana State Police reminds motorists that proper restraint use significantly reduces the risk of serious injury or death in a crash. Making responsible decisions behind the wheel, including wearing a seat belt and remaining attentive, can save lives. While not all crashes are preventable, simple precautions like these can save lives.
