Acadia Parish – Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP-SVU) arrested 35-year-old Erik Rangel of Church Point following an extensive investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

In September 2025, LSP-SVU launched an investigation after receiving reports that Rangel possessed CSAM on his electronic devices. • Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (6,879 Counts)
  • Possession of Pornographic Images/Videos of Sexual Animal Abuse (217 Counts)

This case remains under investigation, and additional information may be released when appropriate.

The public plays a vital role in identifying suspects accused of these crimes and is urged to report criminal or suspicious activity.
