Bogalusa Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Livingston Parish Crash

Holden – Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on September 8, 2025, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 190, east of LA 441, in Livingston Parish. The crash claimed the life of 66-year-old Raymond Hanner Sr. of Bogalusa.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was traveling west on US 190. The driver then came to a stop and was attempting to back into a private driveway located on the eastbound side of the roadway. At the same time, a 2000 GMC Yukon XL, driven by Hanner, was traveling east on US 190. For reasons still under investigation, the Yukon impacted the left rear of the tractor-trailer and overturned.
Hanner was unrestrained at the time of the crash, was partially ejected, and was pronounced deceased on the scene. Two adult passengers in the GMC Yukon were properly restrained and sustained serious injuries. Another juvenile passenger in the GMC Yukon was improperly restrained and suffered minor injuries. All passengers were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The driver of the Peterbilt tractor-trailer was properly restrained and was uninjured. Impairment is an unknown factor in this crash; however, routine toxicology samples were obtained for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make responsible choices when driving: avoid impairment, fatigue, and distractions. Follow traffic laws and ensure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained. While not all crashes are preventable, simple precautions like these can save lives.
