Baton Rouge Man Arrested for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
Baton Rouge – Earlier this month, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU) was requested by Probation and Parole for assistance with a multi-agency initiative targeting sex offenders utilizing social media. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Gregory Campo of Baton Rouge.
The investigation began after Probation and Parole agents seized a device belonging to Campo, a supervised offender, which was believed to contain Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Probation and Parole agents contacted LSP SVU requesting assistance with the forensic extraction of explicit material from the device.
Following the execution of a search warrant and a forensic examination of the seized device, investigators identified four hundred forty-four (444) files containing Child Sexual Abuse Material involving victims under the age of 13. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained. On May 28, 2026, Campo was arrested and charged with 444 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material involving a victim under the age of 13. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. This investigation remains ongoing.
LSP SVU works to rescue and seek justice for the victims of crimes involving the exploitation of children and the trafficking of humans for sex or labor through investigative partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and through public education. The public plays an important role in identifying suspects accused of these crimes and is urged to report criminal or suspicious activity.
