Baton Rouge Man Arrested Following Interstate Shooting and DWI Investigation

Port Allen – Just before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a reported interstate shooting on I-10 westbound near LA 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish. The incident resulted in the arrest of 39-year-old Bradlee St. Julien of Baton Rouge.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a concerned citizen contacted *LSP to report a reckless driver operating a red Ford passenger car westbound on I-10. As the caller attempted to pass the suspect vehicle, the driver of the Ford allegedly brandished a handgun and fired multiple shots at the victim’s vehicle. Troopers were immediately made aware of the suspect vehicle and responded to the area.

The suspect vehicle was located shortly thereafter, exiting I-10 at exit 139, onto LA 77, in Iberville Parish, where a traffic stop was conducted. Troopers safely took St. Julien into custody without incident. During the investigation, Troopers observed a handgun inside the vehicle along with spent shell casings. St. Julien also displayed signs of impairment, and a DWI investigation was conducted.

St. Julien was arrested and booked into the Iberville Parish Jail. He was charged with Driving While Impaired (2nd Offense), Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Domestic Abuse Battery, Violation of Protective Orders, Operating a Vehicle While License Suspended, and other offenses.

Troopers later located the victim’s vehicle, which had multiple bullet strikes to the passenger side of the cab. The victim was not injured during the incident. This investigation remains ongoing. The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office will be handling all of the charges that occurred in that parish.

A single decision behind the wheel can change lives forever. Impaired driving, whether from alcohol, drugs, or both, is dangerous and can have deadly consequences. Always avoid driving or riding with an impaired driver, ensure all passengers are properly restrained, and stay focused on the road. Making responsible choices can save lives. Motorists who witness hazardous road conditions or reckless drivers are urged to call *LSP (*577) and report that activity to the nearest Louisiana State Police troop headquarters.
