Arrest Made in Iberville Parish Hit-and-Run Crash that Killed Pedestrian

Plaquemine – Shortly before 7:00 a.m. on September 3, 2025, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash on LA 75 near Plaquemine in Iberville Parish. The crash claimed the life of 29-year-old Kade Dupree of Plaquemine.

The initial investigation revealed that Dupree was walking along LA 75 when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle. After the crash, the driver fled the scene without contacting law enforcement or rendering aid. Dupree was pronounced deceased on the scene as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.

With evidence collected at the scene and assistance from the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, Troopers identified the suspect vehicle as a 2001 Ford F-150. Further investigation determined the driver to be 46-year-old Richard Wagner of White Castle. Wagner was arrested and booked into the Iberville Parish Jail for Felony Hit and Run, Failure to Seek Assistance, Driving Under Suspension, and Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection. This crash remains under investigation, and routine toxicology results are pending through the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.

Troopers wish to remind motorists of the severe consequences of leaving the scene of a crash. Louisiana law requires all drivers involved in a crash to stop, remain at the scene, and render aid when necessary. Failing to remain at the scene endangers lives and carries significant criminal penalties.
