Arrest Made After Troopers Locate Missing Texas Juvenile

West Baton Rouge Parish – Earlier today, Louisiana State Police Troop A successfully located a missing juvenile from Texas following an agency assistance request from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Shortly after 12:15 p.m. on May 23, 2025, Troopers received a BOLO (Be-On-the-Lookout) for a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu believed to be occupied by a missing 16-year-old juvenile, and a possible suspect, 24-year-old Angel Guerrero of Texas. Troopers observed the suspect vehicle on US 190 east of LA 413 in West Baton Rouge Parish and conducted a traffic stop. The juvenile was identified and safely recovered. Guerrero was identified as the driver and was detained without incident. Texas DPS was immediately notified, and coordination began for further investigation and custody arrangements of the juvenile.

Guerrero was arrested and transported to the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail and booked for Improper Lane Usage, No Driver’s License, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and as a Fugitive for Texas DPS. The juvenile was transported separately and placed into the custody of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, pending reunification efforts.

This case highlights the importance of rapid, coordinated action between agencies across state lines. From the BOLO issued by Texas DPS to the swift response by Troopers, this successful outcome reflects the power of shared intelligence and decisive teamwork. Louisiana State Police remains committed to working with our law enforcement partners to protect vulnerable individuals and uphold public safety, wherever the need arises.
