Paincourtville – On December 31, 2025, shortly before 6:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 308 near Lucky Street in Assumption Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 18-year-old Jamor Jones of Napoleonville.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Jones was traveling north on LA Highway 308 on a KTM dirt bike as he approached Lucky Street. For reasons still under investigation, the dirt bike ran off the roadway to the right and entered a shallow ditch, where it overturned, ejecting Jones.

Jones, who was not wearing a DOT-approved helmet, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

A standard toxicology sample was collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
