Highway Patrolman Geronimo C. Trevino of the Louisiana Highway Commission was killed on August 8th, 1932, in an automobile crash.

Patrolman Trevino had made a traffic stop of a vehicle on Gentilly Rd in New Orleans on his department motorcycle. As he spoke with the individual, he had pulled over an impaired driver struck and seriously injured Patrolman Trevino. Trevino died later that afternoon from his injuries at Charity Hospital.
