Unrestrained Castor Woman Killed in Red River Parish Crash

Martin – On Friday, October 6, 2023, just before 8:30 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop G began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash on LA Hwy 787 just south of LA Hwy 155. This crash claimed the life of 36-year-old Jodi Tingle.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Tingle, was traveling south on LA Hwy 787. For reasons still under investigation, Tingle failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, exited the roadway to the left, and overturned multiple times.

As a result of this crash, Tingle, who was unrestrained, was ejected from the Suburban and suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Red River Parish Coroner’s Office. Although impairment is not suspected, routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive impaired, fatigued or distracted, follow all traffic laws, and always ensure that every occupant is properly restrained. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.

In 2023, Troop G has investigated 19 fatal crashes, resulting in 19 deaths.
