Troopers Investigate Fatal Crash in St. Bernard Parish
Meraux – Last night, just after 12:00 am, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash on LA 39 eastbound near the intersection of Munster Blvd in St. Bernard Parish. The identity of the deceased is pending identification by the Coroner’s office.

The preliminary investigation revealed the driver was traveling eastbound on LA 39 near Munster Blvd in a 2013 Infiniti G37. For reasons still under investigation, the Infiniti ran off the road to the right and struck a utility pole. The driver of the vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. Impairment on the driver’s part is unknown however, toxicology test will be performed following an autopsy. This crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information at this time.

Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive while impaired, fatigued, or distracted, always ensure every occupant is properly restrained, and follow all traffic laws. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
