Georgetown Chief of Police Arrested for Malfeasance

Georgetown– In August 2023, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria Field Office (LSP AFO) received a complaint of malfeasance committed by the Chief of Police of Georgetown Police Department.  According to the provided information, 51-year-old George Hinds of Georgetown, collected a cash payment on a traffic stop.

As a result of information obtained during the investigation, LSP AFO secured an arrest warrant for Hinds.  Earlier today, Hinds was booked into the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Jail for malfeasance in office. 

The Louisiana State Police will serve as the lead investigative agency.  The investigation remains active and ongoing.  There is no further information available at this time.
