St. John the Baptist Parish Clerk of Court Employee Arrested for Public Payroll Fraud and Other Charges

St. John the Baptist Parish In May of 2023, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations (LSP BOI) received a complaint from the Louisiana Legislative Auditor against 54-year-old Troy Williams of New Orleans, a Clerk of Court employee for St. John the Baptist Parish, for threatening a public official and injuring public records.

 

As a result of additional information obtained during the investigation, LSP BOI detectives discovered evidence of payroll fraud and other unlawful acts that Williams also committed. Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Williams on the charges of public payroll fraud, unlawful acts, threatening a public official, and injuring public records. On October 17, 2023, Williams was booked into the Lt. Sherman Walker Correctional Facility in St. John the Baptist Parish on the above charges.

 

The Louisiana State Police will serve as the lead investigative agency. The investigation remains active and ongoing. There is no further information available at this time.
