Ramah – As numerous Louisiana State Police Troopers continue to focus on Mardi Gras safety in and around New Orleans, Troopers across the State continue to stay focused on safety for the rest of Louisiana. Shortly before 2:30 AM on February 10, 2024, Troop A Troopers investigated a single vehicle crash on I-10 eastbound in Iberville Parish that led to a significant narcotics seizure. The investigation also resulted in the arrest of 37-year-old Gregory N. Jackson of Porter, TX.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Jackson was traveling in a 2022 Toyota Camry eastbound on I-10 east of LA Hwy 3000. For unknown reasons, the Camry exited the roadway to the left and became disabled on the median crossover barrier. Upon coming into contact with Jackson, Troopers suspected impairment. Further investigation revealed approximately 15 pounds of suspected MDMA “Ecstasy” pills.

Due to his suspected impairment, Jackson was transported to a local hospital for observation. Upon being released earlier today, he was booked into the Iberville Parish Jail for LRS 14:98 - Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, LRS 32:58 - Careless operation, and LRS 40:966 - PWITD Schedule I (ecstasy). A toxicology sample was obtained from Jackson for further analysis. The Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division – Region 1 assisted in this investigation, and this crash remains under investigation.
