Plaquemine Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Iberville Parish Crash

Plaquemine Shortly before midnight on March 3, 2024, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA Hwy 75 west of LA Hwy 992-3 in Iberville Parish. The crash claimed the life of 53-year-old Arvin S. Woodfork of Plaquemine.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Woodfork was traveling west on LA Hwy 75 in a 2005 Lincoln Town Car. For unknown reasons, the Town Car exited the roadway to the left. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle entered a ditch and struck a culvert before coming to rest in a field. Woodfork was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene. While impairment is unknown, standard toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted for analysis. Restraint use is unknown at this time, and this crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists the importance of making good decisions while in motor vehicles. Never drive while impaired, fatigued, or distracted, always ensure every occupant is properly restrained, and follow all traffic laws. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
