Pedestrian Killed in Hit & Run Crash

Jefferson Parish - Shortly after 6:40 p.m. on November 4, 2023, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop B began investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on U.S.90B west near Nine Mile Point Road in Bridge City. The crash claimed the life of 65-year-old Paul D. Dominy Jr. of Westwego.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the crash occurred as Dominy Jr. was standing or walking in the westbound lanes of U.S.90B near Nine Mile Point Road. At the same time, an unknown vehicle was traveling west on U.S.90B and struck Dominy Jr. The unknown vehicle failed to stop and continued to travel west on U.S.90B.

Dominy Jr. suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Impairment is unknown, and standard toxicology tests are pending. This crash remains under investigation.
