Motorcyclist Dies in Livingston Parish Crash

Denham Springs – Shortly after 4:00 pm on October 26, 2020, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on LA Hwy 16 south of LA Hwy 1033 in Livingston Parish. The crash claimed the life of 43-year-old Kenneth Forest of Pride.

The preliminary investigation revealed the crash occurred as Forest was traveling northbound on LA Hwy 16 on a 2020 Suzuki GSX1300. For reasons still under investigation, the Suzuki exited the roadway to the right and struck a culvert.

Despite the fact he was wearing a DOT approved helmet, Forest sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. As part of the ongoing investigation, a toxicology sample was obtained from Forest for analysis.

Troopers encourage all riders to take an approved motorcycle safety course. These courses teach safe riding practices and help you apply safe riding strategies that can help reduce your chance of injury should a crash occur. Making good choices while riding a motorcycle, such as never driving while impaired and obeying all traffic laws, can often mean the difference between life and death.
