Louisiana State Police to Host Inaugural Cybersecurity Summit

Baton Rouge – The Louisiana State Police, in partnership with cybersecurity firm Evalv IQ, are proud to announce the inaugural, Securing Louisiana Cyber Summit. This event will be held at the Louisiana State Police Training Academy (7901 Independence Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70806) on October 30, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hosted by Colonel Lamar Davis, the summit will address the state of cybersecurity in Louisiana for small businesses and critical infrastructure.

This comprehensive summit will explore cybersecurity requirements and best practices that will equip attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to enhance business security and contribute to the strengthening of the state's critical infrastructures. The summit will provide for both in-person and virtual experiences, and more than 200 attendees are expected. This is an excellent opportunity for local executives, IT leaders, and business owners.

Speakers include cybersecurity leaders and experts in the industry. The keynote will be delivered by Mr. Alvin-O Williams, who will discuss strategies to maximize security and resiliency through the creation of circular ecosystems. Other speakers include Paul Matthews of the Port of South Louisiana and James Murray, IT Director for the Louisiana Supreme Court.
