Joint Investigation Leads to Shreveport Man Sentenced to Ten Years in Federal Prison

 

Shreveport- On Thursday, October 5, 2023, the United States Attorney’s Office announced that Leroy Shintell McKinney, a 38-year-old resident of Shreveport, was sentenced to federal prison. McKinney was found guilty of Possession with Intent to Distribute 50 grams or more of Methamphetamine. As a result, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

 

The investigation into McKinney's narcotics activities spanned nearly two years and involved various locations in Shreveport. On November 16, 2022, Investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) arrested McKinney at a residence on N. Southland Park Drive while executing a federal search warrant for narcotics. During the search, Investigators recovered approximately six ounces of methamphetamines and a large amount of contraband. Throughout the course of the investigation, a total of nearly 13 ounces of pure methamphetamine was seized from McKinney.

 

This case was diligently investigated by members of the Louisiana State Police, DEA, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, and the United States Postal Service.
