Baton Rouge Attorney Charged with Corrupt Influencing

Baton Rouge – On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, detectives from the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division Baton Rouge Field Office (CID-BRFO) arrested Baton Rouge attorney, 77-year-old Stephen Leblanc on charges related to tampering with a witness.

On October 24, 2023, the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID-BRFO) began investigating a complaint that Leblanc participated in the payment of witnesses to prevent them from appearing in court for a murder trial. As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Leblanc through the 19th Judicial District Court.

On November 29, 2023, Leblanc turned himself into the East Parish Prison and was booked for Corrupt Influencing.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
