Highway Patrolman Frank Brown, Jr of the Louisiana Highway Commission was fatally injured on October 31, 1934, when he was struck on his motorcycle by a truck. Reports indicate that Patrolman Brown was traveling from Bogalusa to Covington when a truck hit him head-on in his lane while its driver was attempting to pass a car in a curve.
