The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation is responsible for the investigation of criminal activity, intelligence gathering, and case and technical support in the State of Louisiana. This program is made up of the Criminal Investigations Division, the Special Investigations Division, and the Gaming Enforcement Division.


Biography Information

LTC White is a second generation Louisiana State Trooper. Hired in 1986, he worked uniformed patrol in the Baton Rouge area for two years before transferring into criminal investigations. In 1992, he was promoted to Sergeant in Gaming Enforcement and then in 1996, to Lieutenant in charge of the Riverboat Gaming Division.

In 1997, LTC White was transferred back into the Criminal Program and tasked with re-establishing the Criminal Intelligence Unit, where he served until being promoted to Captain of the Investigative Support Section in 1999.

In 2006, LTC White advanced to the rank of Major as Command Inspector in charge of the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division. He was transferred to Support Services in 2009 and then in 2011, to Transportation and Environmental Safety Services which oversees the Motor Carrier Safety Section and Emergency Services, including Hazardous Material and Explosives Control.

In December 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and named Deputy Superintendent of Support with the responsibility for managing the training and support functions for the department which includes Capitol Security, the Crime Lab, Fleet Operations, Police Supply, the Concealed Handgun Unit, the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information, Communications, Air Support and Crisis Response.

As of January 2018, LTC White now serves as Deputy Superintendent over the Bureau of Investigations which includes the Criminal Investigations, Special Investigations and Gaming Enforcement Divisions.

LTC White holds a Bachelor's degree from LSU and he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 191st Session. He has been the recipient of numerous commendations and awards including the Professional Excellence Award, Unit Citation Award, and two Meritorious Service Awards.
