The Hazardous Material and Explosives Control Unit has the responsibility for response to and investigation of all chemical emergencies occurring within Louisiana. This unit also regulates the explosives industry.


*UPDATE – Revised applications for individual and magazine explosives licenses will be posted on July 1, 2010. Please review state explosives laws and regulations (LRS 40:1472.1 et seq and LAC 55:I.Chapter 15) for licensing eligibility and other requirements.
