Gaming Enforcement Section
The Gaming Enforcement Section is committed to the emphatic regulation and control of statutorily authorized gaming entities in
conjunction with the Gaming Control Board. These establishments include licensed Riverboat Casinos, the Land Base Casino in New
Orleans, Slots at the Tracks and all Video Poker locations. Also, contained within the Gaming Enforcement Section is the Indian
Gaming Section which operates under mutually agreed Compacts with the Tribes and has all necessary concurrent jurisdictions for
the protection of the public, the Tribes and the State.
In addition, the Gaming Enforcement Section enforces all laws pertaining to illegal forms of gambling within the jurisdiction
of the State. Crimes with a nexus to gambling, such as bookmaking, illegal internet gambling, dog fighting and underground casinos
are but a few of the cases investigated by this section. We welcome information from the public on any such activities and act
promptly to investigate.
State Police Gaming Enforcement Troopers are positioned across the state in offices located in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Amelia,
Lafayette, Opelousas, Lake Charles and Shreveport. Inquiries should be made through the office nearest the activity in question;
however, all inquiries are welcome and will be routed to the appropriate office.
