MISSION

The Gaming Enforcement Division is committed to the strict regulation and control of statutorily authorized gaming entities in conjunction with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB). The regulation of gaming and the enforcement of criminal gambling laws promote the public's health, safety, and welfare by safeguarding the people of this state against corrupt and dishonest practices. The Program also provides professional services in an effective, innovative, and fair manner that instills public confidence, while fulfilling duties that ensure accurate revenue collection and reporting from licensees, protect the state's assets, and ensure the integrity of all gaming devices and systems by enforcing compliance with all state laws, regulations, and licensee's internal controls related to legally authorized Gaming in Louisiana.

The Section is divided into four units plus administrative support staff for the processing of gaming applications at headquarters. Units are managed by Supervisors who report directly to the Lieutenant.

Centralized Audit Unit
The Centralized Audit Unit consists of three subunits.

Corporate Securities conducts financial investigations to determine financial suitability of all corporate casino license applicants. They also ensure proper remittance of fees and prepare reports to allow proper coding of the fees as required by law.

Internal Controls evaluates the consistency of each licensee’s written systems of internal controls as related to rule and statute.

Video Poker ensures proper remittance of fees and prepares reports to allow proper coding of fees as required by law. They also ensure proper reporting of truck stop fuel sales and prepare reports that will determine licensing status and the number of video poker devices allowed at each truck stop.

Corporate Investigations Unit
The Corporate Investigations Unit conducts licensing investigations to determine suitability of all corporate casino applicants.

Truck Stop Investigations Unit
The Truck Stop Investigations Unit conducts licensing investigations to determine suitability of all video poker truck stop license applicants.  They also investigate and enforce violations of state gaming law, administrative rules, and regulations as it relates to video poker truck stop licenses.

Video Poker Technical Support Unit
The Video Poker Technical Support Unit monitors and ensures all licensed Video Poker devices are communicating with the required state central monitoring system in Baton Rouge. They also ensure the gaming industry complies with storage, transfers and placement of video poker devices. Lastly, they review new video poker gaming technologies and devices for compliance with applicable Louisiana laws and rules, and provides investigative assistance in terms of technological data.
