Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
The LSP Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is a state-of-the-art command and control center located on the LSP Headquarters compound. From this location, members of the Critical Incident Management Staff (CIMS) coordinate disaster planning, response and mitigation to critical incidents. In addition, the EOC serves as a base of operations for high profile security operations and Departmental support for other agencies.
The LSP EOC plays an important role in critical incident management and has activated for an array of events including: response to inclement weather; security details such as Presidential Campaigns, and Gubernatorial Inaugurations; and other emergency response activities such as hazardous materials incidents, the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, and multi-jurisdictional law enforcement operations. In addition, the Crisis Response staff is able to monitor major evacuation routes and Louisiana's critical infrastructure through video monitoring equipment.
The LSP EOC is equipped with communication, mapping and intelligence gathering technology designed to increase situational awareness and facilitate information dissemination. All EOC systems have built in redundancy features to ensure uninterrupted service to the citizens of Louisiana.
